What a top notch session that was. Big Winds, Big Waves, Big Jumps and Big Fun.

Was supposed to be MTBing but got out of work late so decided to head home and turbo train instead. Couldn't resist a windsurf session though once I saw the sea so headed over to the beach.

Rigged my 5m sail and 85 ltr waveboard as the grass whipped at my calves - no need for a full wetsuit at the mo. Probably should have rigged something quite a bit smaller but didn't have much time so wanted to be over-powered rather than underpowered. It paid off. Maxed out the whole time and just hanging on at times as I chattered over the water. White water on the inside for some little hops, tucking my feet in under my to level them off and get more height. Bigger ramps further out and some nice steep ones to launch into vertical jumps. Banging out gybe after gybe and plenty of nice waves to ride on the way back in.

Thought about rotating into a loop a few times. However, considering the fact that this was the first proper windsurf injury after coming back from a fairly major chest injury which had led to pericarditis I was a little reluctant to risk injury again. I didn't eventually go for a half-hearted back loop. The wave was better suited to a push loop really and I didn't get enough height so didn't make it, but at least I tried.

Check out my video here

A top notch 5* session followed by dinner and 90 mins cycling.
